We-Vibe Ditto Vibrating Butt Plug

Do you own a We-Vibe Tango? Have you ever wanted so badly to stick it up your butt, just to have the little angel on your right shoulder remind you that the laws of safe anal play forbid it? Yeah, me too, so many times I’ve lost count. The Pleasure Mates Collection gave me a glimpse of what could be with the Dusk butt plug sleeve. And now my rumbly butt dreams have finally been realised with the arrival of the We-Vibe Ditto. Glory be!

When I first plucked the Ditto from its box I confess that I just stared at it. And I stared, and stared and wondered if, when I got it in me, my butt would even know it was there. It’s so small, people. Only about one and a half times the size of my thumb.

It’s just 3.5” in total length. Yep, base, neck, and bulb, it’s the length of my middle finger. The neck is only half an inch or so, meaning that the We-Vibe Ditto is a tight fit. About 2.5” of it is the bulb, and that has a maximum girth of 3.75”.

But, as I’m sure most of us have heard by now, good things do come in small packages, so don’t write it off just yet…

As with all of We-Vibe’s silicone products, the Ditto feels lovely to the touch. Seamless, soft, and matte, you can tell that it’s a high-quality toy as soon as you lay your hands on it. My version is a gorgeous, midnight blue, but it comes in purple, too, if you prefer that.

Nearly all butt plugs I’ve seen have had one of three types of base: round, T-bar, or anchor. The base of the We-Vibe Ditto is the rarer type that turns the toy into an L-shape. Super short at one end with a longer piece at the other. That piece is subtly curved, so adds to the Ditto’s butt-hugging nature.

On the underside of the base you’ll find two things: the charger connector point, and the single control button. Yeah, like all We-Vibe toys, the Ditto is USB rechargeable via a magnetic charger. This is the point where I’d usually curse and whine, but the connection between toy and charger is pretty strong. In fact, I can pick the Ditto up by the cable when it’s charging without it disconnecting. I suspect that’s because the plug is super light, though, and I wouldn’t recommend you do this as on the regular just in case things go south.

As for the bulb of this butt plug, there’s a shape going on that I don’t think I’ve seen before. Be they squat and round or long and tapered, most butt plugs are uniform in their shape. Not the Ditto. It’s flat backed with a pot-bellied front. Because of the way it’s meant to be worn, that bulging hump presses against the inner wall, and very possibly the P-Spot, if you have one.

So, vibes and how to access them.

Like I said before, the We-Vibe Ditto has just one button. Firstly, the indicator light behind it flashes to let you know when your plug needs charging. That means you need never fall foul to a suddenly dead Ditto! Rejoice!

The button turns the vibes on/off, and lets you find your favourite setting. Because everything is fitted in so snugly down there, using that button while playing solo is pretty much an impossibility. Lube, body fluids, tightness…nope. I can’t change the vibes once the Ditto is in me. Even the Fella struggles to change them when it’s in me, cos his fingers slip off the button. And when he’s tried to hold the base to steady it, he’s nipped me. I’m not really keen on having a nipped butthole so, when it comes to the Ditto, the remote control is king.

It’s a battery controlled remote that’s super tiny and made from white ABS plastic and grey rubber. Four arrows let you move back and forth through vibration modes, and they let you adjust the intensity, too.

And then there’s the We-Connect App. Trust it or don’t, that’s up to you. We like using the app while the Fella is working nights, but as he’s had some time off work for health reasons, we haven’t really bothered with it (other than a perfunctory testing to make sure it works well – it does). The remote works fine for us, though we have had a few connectivity issues when we get more than a few feet apart. I think that’s my natural padding, though, and no fault of the remote itself.

Whichever way you choose to control your plug, you get the same vibes, though with the app and remote you do have the liberty to tune them more finely to your liking. Basically, if you were using the button on the toy you’d have four intensities and six patterns. If you’re familiar with We-Vibe toys, you’ll know what you’re in for.

The big question is, are the vibes at least equal to the Tango?

The answer to that is YES. Kinda. If you can imagine the Tango with a coating of silicone, vibes slightly dulled, sensation slightly softened, that’s what you get from the We-Vibe Ditto.

I was scared to use it at first because I was half convinced it wouldn’t work for me, but once I’d given myself a clitoral orgasm with it I knew we’d get along. Inserting it is made easy by the tapered tip, and once it’s past the halfway point my butt just draws it in. It sits comfortably straight away, no fiddling or jiggling necessary.

And as soon as the vibes start I want to fuck. It feels absolutely amazing, even though it’s so small I could probably forget it’s there if it wasn’t switched on. The vibes are powerful, deep and rumbly, the kind that feed my hotspots and make my toes curl. I can feel them from inside my vagina, and so can the Fella. When I’m on top, the base strokes his balls every time I lower myself down on him, and it’s ace feeling his legs jerk because of it.

It doesn’t give me the full feeling I usually look for in anal play, but only in the sense of not being stretched. Of not having whatever I’ve got in my vag moving against it. But the strength of the vibes makes it feel bigger than it is, so I do get the feeling of being penetrated when I move around.

Remember me mentioning the curved base earlier? Well, that curve is designed to lie against the perineum. It feels fab for me, but the Fella isn’t doing butt stuff at the moment so I can’t say how good it feels for him. He does like the way the vibes feel when I stroke the plug around his anus and perineum, though, so I reckon he’ll love it once he’s back in action.

Did I mention that the We-Vibe Ditto is waterproof? I don’t think I did, but it is. I have used it in the bath and it feels lovely, but I don’t like how loud it is so won’t do it often. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a super quiet vibe, but when it’s pressed against the bottom of the bath it’s mega.

Because it’s waterproof, you can clean it quickly and easily. As it’s an anal toy, I like to use toy cleaners after washing it in soapy water. Surprisingly, there’s no storage bag in the box. I’m used to getting bags with We-Vibe toys, even though I only use them for my Tangos. The box is small enough, though, so I store my Ditto in there.

It’s time for me to say that I love my little Ditto. It’s a Tango for my butt, and that’s a precious thing. 1. Thank you 😀 I have a feeling the Ditto is making its way onto plenty of wishlists atm. It’s a fab little (tiny, lol) thing, I think it’s gonna be super popular.x

  1. I totally approve of remotes. Fiddling with a toy mid-butt and trying to mess with a phone with lubey hands are not great solutions, but it seems like remotes are out of vogue or something. The color is gorgeous, too, and We-Vibe always has great vibrations (I have the Rave and it’s glorious.)

    1. Yes! The Rave is a brilliant toy, whether it’s used internally or externally. In fact, I’m loving all We-Vibe toys at the moment. My first ever product of theirs was the We-Vibe II and it was so bad I didn’t think I’d ever like anything of theirs. Four years later and I use one We-Vibe toy or another almost every day.x

  2. How would you say it fairs for an absolute beginner? Or maybe more specifically, do you suppose it’d be a good 2nd toy for someone new to anal play? I’ve been super curious about the Ditto after i read that the cock rings were sub-par…..thanks for the comparisons; really helps to understand size/intensity of the toy!

    1. I’d say that, cos of it’s petite size, the Ditto is perfect for all experience levels, especially beginner/intermediate. It’s about the size I’d recommend once someone has worked through all fingers, but very inexperienced butts will possibly still need a quick finger warm up to easily accommodate the width. It really is small, but unlike round based tiny plugs, it’s perfectly anal safe.

I have one of the cock rings for review (the Pivot) and I think the vibes are ace. Not quite Tango powerful, and not as powerful as the Ditto, but stronger than any cock ring I’ve come across this far.x

  3. By the pictures I’ve seen of it, I would bet the base interferes with PIV sex, but you say it doesn’t. Can you tell me the measure between the neck of the plug and the anterior end of the base? This may be one of this “not suitable for every body size” things. It happened to me with we vibe before and I’ m looking for a vibrating butt plug that can be used within (and without) PIV sex.

    1. The measurement you’re after is 1.5″. Like all toys, the Ditto can get in the way of penetrative sex in certain positions for sure. Missionary is the worst for it, but the Fella combats this by shifting higher up my body and penetrating from a sharper angle. Doggy style positions are our faves, and as he can see everything that goes on it’s easy for him to use a finger to hold the plug in a spot that’s comfy for him. It’s no hardship as he usually fiddles and shifts plugs around for my benefit anyway.

No toy on the market is suitable for every body, though plenty claim to be, lol. All you can really do is try it to see if it works with your anatomy. If you decide to give it a go, I wish you the best of luck 😀

  4. I found it to be very small compared to my glass butt plugs…but the vibrations defintely make up for that! Due to it’s small stature I would say it is very beginner friendly. I am having issues with the battery only lasting for 20min or so, and it constantly unpairs from the app. I like to wear it when I go out so controlling it from my phone is a nice option.

  5. Been curious about anal play for a while now and been looking at this toy for its remote function. My partner want me to ware this in public and have her able to access it anytime she wants. Is this a toy for males or should I have her get something? I’m just worried she will get something massive.

    1. Hi 🙂

Like *almost* all anal toys, the Ditto isn’t designed for any specific gender, it’s for everyone. Because it’s so petite it’s great for anyone new to anal play, and of course the remote makes it brilliant for shared play while the app makes it great for connecting with a partner long distance.

As for just letting your partner get something…If she goes off plug shopping on her own she might end up buying something that, while hot looking to her, is out of the question for you. For that reason, I’d recommend being actively involved in choosing your own toys when taking your first steps into anal play because it’s unlikely you’ll buy something that’s too big for you.

      Hope that helps,

    2. This is perfect for beginners…you don’t want to start with something too big and end up not enjoying it. I wish my wife was into mutual toy play, I would love to have her in control of it while I was out and about!!
