I’ll go in straight off the bat here and say that the Blush Novelties Audre wasn’t my first choice from the Vilain product line. As you probably know, if you’re a regular Scandarella visitor, I’m a girl who loves her G-Spot, and I lavish it with as much attention as I possibly can, but you’ll also probably know that I *almost* always need clitoral stimulation to go with it if I’m gonna have a hope in hell of reaching orgasm.
So my initial choice had been the softly shaped Cecelia rabbit vibe, as with its rounded shaft and chubby little clit arm, it looked very promising for the kind of dual stim I need, all in one toy. But that wasn’t meant to be, and Audre arrived in Cecelia’s place.
My initial impressions of the Vilain range were very positive. I love the packaging it comes in: a pretty black and pink box with a sexy lace pattern that reminds me of stocking tops. That box has a windowed front, and in a two part plastic case sits the Audre, it’s instructions and usb charger hidden away in a smaller internal box.
The Audre I received is black, but if the dark and brooding isn’t your bag, it’s available in what looks like baby pink too. I love the silky smoothness of this vibe, and I did sit and stroke it for a while after I first unboxed it. With this being a vibrator and not a dildo, the silicone is wrapped around a firmer interior, but unlike many silicone vibes, that outer layer is thick enough to give the toy a nice squishy bounce.
If I have no intention of reviewing a purchase, I’ll research it until my eyeballs fall out, but if I know I’m gonna be reviewing something, I don’t. I like to find out about all of a toy’s functions and quirks for myself, with no preconceptions gleaned from other people’s experiences. So, as I knew the Audre was coming, I refrained from reading any reviews about it.
Because of that, I was really surprised to discover that the 7 inch long shaft of the Audre is super flexible. I’m not shitting you, it folds clean in half! Not in the way the Je Joue G-Kii does, though. The Audre wants to return to its natural shape and has to be held in position, whereas the G-Kii clicks into place and stays there until you choose to change it. I love this flexi-feature! But more on that later.
The Audre is usb rechargeable by a pin charger, the port for which is located in the gunmetal hued plastic panel at the base of the toy. It has one of those annoying flappy things that you have to pick out and pop back in when you’re done. Those flaps really irritate me, cos I’ve pulled them off on a couple of other toys, but the one on the Audre seems quite secure.
Be sure that you push the little silicone stopper back in completely if you plan to venture into watery areas though, which you can totally do if you want to, as the toy is waterproof. It’s not a bath time favourite for me, but I do appreciate how easy cleaning is when a toy is submersible.
Simple controls are always a welcome feature too, and the Audre is as simple as they come. One button to switch the toy on and off, and a second button positioned beneath it to control the 3 speeds, and 4 patterns. The box claims that the vibes are “whisper quiet” which is in actual fact, utter bollocks. The Audre is LOUD, even on its mid speed, and on its highest, it could be heard from outside the room I was in. I had the TV on too.
So, after trying a battery powered toy from Blush (and being personally underwhelmed) I was eager to find out how they’d done with their rechargeable ones…
And, boy, was I impressed! The Audre boasts a fabulous amount of rumbly power that my clit can’t get enough of. Even on the first speed, the power is enough to take me so close to a clitoral orgasm that just a few seconds on the next speed up gets me off. With its widest girth of 4.5 inches around the softly tapered tip, it’s not exactly pin point, but it hits the spot regardless, and because of the flex, I find it easier to control the pressure I put on my clit.
Though the shape, flexibility, and power of the Audre makes it a superb clit stimulator, it is, first and foremost, a G-Spot vibe, and it executes its job perfectly. The flexi-shaft lets me position it exactly where I need it, and while it’s too flexible for me to get a good hard grind going when I’m playing alone, there’s enough power on the highest setting for the vibes to do all the work. I will say it does lose a little bit of its rumble on high, but not so much that its effectiveness is reduced.
The Fella can get a much better angle on it than I can myself when we play together, so if he’s manning the boat, he always manages to get a good, firm stroke going by holding his thumb on the bend so that it stays more rigid. Playtime with him is where the flexibility of the shaft really shines too – once the Audre is positioned on my G-Spot, he can use that bend to tease my clit. That’s not enough in itself to make me cum, but it certainly gets me begging him to make it happen.
So, with a size and shape that’s as suitable for the beginner as it is the pro, and vibes that can make even a budding power queen smile, the Audre is a fantastic choice for a first or even tenth rechargeable vibe. Factor in that it can be folded to reach the G-Spot and clitoris simultaneously, it’s great for those who need dual stim too. It really does have something for most people, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
