In general, I’m not a fan of plain old up and down dildos. I like texture. I like bumps, nubs and ridges or pronounced curves, because I like to be able to feel what I’m being fucked with rather than just having a vague sensation of something moving in and out of wherever it’s being put. But I bought the Tantus Silk (large) because… Tantus. That’s the only reason I need. That and the fact that it was a Grab Bag, meaning I was in for a lucky dip colour and a lot of bang for my buck.
The colour I ended up with wasn’t all that special though. It’s more or less the same shiny purple I’ve seen for sale on numerous sites here in the UK. But that’s not a big thing, is it? The aesthetic is only part of the appeal. The biggest draw Tantus’ products have for me is their quality. Their silicone is far superior to many brands I’ve tried, and you know you’re getting something completely body safe no matter what the shape. You can boil it or shove it in the dishwasher and it’ll come out as good as new, though I use a soapy wash and toy cleaner sprays to keep mine good.
The Silk has six inches of insertable length and is quarter of an inch shy of five inches in circumference. It’s harness compatible (needing a 1.5” O-ring) and boasts a flared base so is suitable for anal play.
Harness and anal play. Those words make me smile nowadays. As I mentioned, the Tantus Silk isn’t my favourite type of dildo, and even though it does have a curve that makes it more than capable of giving me a G-Spot orgasm if I get the angle right, it’s not one I reach for often when choosing for myself. But when it comes to our harness, I love to have it to hand, or more appropriately, groin.
We’re pretty new to the whole strap-on scene, having tried and aborted it a little while ago before picking back up with it again in the second half of 2015. Part of the reason we quit the first time around was that the Fella struggled with giving control over to me, and I struggled taking it. Our compromise at that time was a strapless strap-on, and he would be the one to ride me.
This did work as we were both happy that he was still in control, and the prospect of watching him take bigger and better dildos excited me no end, but it got to the point where we both grew bored of it. The positions were always the same, and we decided to stop as I wasn’t ‘pegging’ him in the true spirit of the word.
But then we bought a harness, and ever since I’ve been building up my confidence, and he’s been building up a nice list of stuff to which his butt will grant access. It’s still weird for me to parade around the bedroom with a cock poking out from the top of my thighs, but it gives the Fella the shivers, and that gives me the shivers.
The Silk makes for an easy ride for him. The size and shape makes insertion comfortable and painless, and the glossy smooth silicone combined with a good anal lube makes thrusting a breeze. The curved tip strokes his prostate nicely, and despite my sometimes dubious rhythm, he always has a blast.
The only time I ever get excited about having the Silk used on me is when he’s wearing the harness. I know it’s double penetration time when he puts it on, and DP is one of the only situations where I don’t appreciate boldly textured toys. Too many perineal nips are to be had when his cock passes a bump, so the smoothness of the Silk is a pleasure for this kind of play.
The Tantus Silk lives on the ‘most used’ shelf in our toy cupboard and I can’t see it being demoted to the one underneath (the less used but still awesome shelf) any time soon. If you’d like to give one a go, click the banner below.
