Welcome to my favourite lube! I cannot believe that I haven’t written a stand-alone review of this stuff yet. I mean, it is the best I’ve ever tried. Like, ever. I’ve tried so many lubes but time and again I keep coming back to Sliquid Sassy.
Why? Because it’s basically the one lube to rule them all. Yeah, it’s great to have silicone lube for playing in the bath, oily lube for hand-jobs, flavoured lube for blowjobs… but it’s always a good idea to have a do-it-all water-based lube in the bedside drawer, too. That way, you’re always prepared for spontaneous sex and gotta do it now masturbation.
Sliquid Sassy is that lube for me. There’s a 60ml bottle in my handbag, and in the Fella’s glovebox. There’s a 125ml bottle in his bedside drawer, and a 255ml one in mine. When one ends up empty it’s replaced by another of the same size.
The reason I love it so much is that it lends itself to every type of play. It’s a lovely thick gel which loosens up a little once warmed so provides good cushioning for anal. And for using large toys vaginally. It’s colourless, odourless and flavourless so is great for oral. Well, oral that’s performed on me, that is. I prefer to use flavoured lubes when I give BJs cos the taste of cum makes me wanna hurl.
Something else I love about Sassy is how long lasting it is. I really hate having to stop to reapply lube, and this is something that happens more and more the older I get. Getting wet isn’t a problem for me, as soon as I’m even a little bit aroused my vulva becomes good and sloshy. But no matter how aroused I am, and no matter how much action there is between my thighs, I still find myself drying up before playtime is over. This usually happens toward the end and at the beginning of my cycle. That’s why I need a lube with longevity, and Sliquid Sassy certainly has that. Even if it does start to dry up (say, while I’m giving a BJ), all it takes is a little saliva to activate it again. We don’t even have to reach for the bottle.
As well as all that, I love this lube because it isn’t bad for me. So many lubes are full of toxic shite that either cause or at the very least exacerbate vulva-based infections. Glycerine – often the first or second ingredient on a list – is the worst offender. It’s a sugar, and sugars in warm places lead to yeast infections. While it may not give you one if you never ever have them, those prone to yeast infections may find their lube is one of the things making them worse.
Truth be told, I never used to care what I slapped on my vulva until I started suffering from regular UTIs. Taking antibiotics gives me yeast infections, and using dodgy lubes makes them all the worse. That’s why I recommend – and use – Sliquid products almost exclusively these days. There is no glycerine in Sassy or any other Sliquid product, not even their flavoured Swirl line. There aren’t any parabens either, or propylene glycol, sulphates, or gluten. Yep, Sliquid Sassy is vegan-friendly. I’m not vegan, or even vegetarian, but many folks are and it’s great that there’s a high-quality lube brand out there that’s suitable for them.
So, that’s that, really. Sassy is fantastic for all types of penetration, hands-on masturbation, and oral sex. It can be used with all kinds of toys, in all kinds of materials. It has longevity, is thick and cushioning, and a little goes a long way. It’s the lube I recommend to basically anyone who asks for a recommendation, and I will always ensure that I never run out of it.
