Want to know something that’s better than receiving a body safe sex toy you weren’t expecting? Receiving an amazing body safe sex toy that you weren’t expecting. I was over the moon when I opened up my parcel from German sex toy maker, SelfDelve, a couple of months ago and discovered that, along with my glorious Aubergine Dildo, I’d been sent a Pepper Silicone Dildo to review.
Never had I been so excited to see a piece of fruit!
It didn’t take me long to come to the conclusion that SelfDelve dildos are outstanding. Because of its size, the Aubergine was the one I wanted to get to know first. That meant that the Pepper had to wait a while. But once I used it, I knew I loved it just as much as its travel buddy.
SelfDelve make dildos in many sizes, and while the Aubergine definitely isn’t for the faint hearted, the Pepper is suitable for a much wider pool of people. It measures up at 9” in length with a circumference of 5.75” around the base. On the face of it, it does look quite intimidating. But if you consider that the shaft tapers to a slender 3” point, it suddenly doesn’t seem so scarily big.
In this particular shape, the silicone SelfDelve use is uber flexible, with an epically high shine. The super smooth shaft is seamless and flawless, but the shape of the dildo itself offers some very interesting textures. Dimples, ridges, bumps… even the little squishy silicone stalk is a sensation just waiting to happen.
Unashamedly red with a splash of green, the dildo is a perfect rendition of an actual sweet red pepper. And it’s colour changing, too. Stick it in some hot water and watch it change from red to orange. Kinda pointless, but so much fun!
As it’s made from one piece of silicone with no joins or handles, the Pepper is essentially double ended. People who like a bit of girth can go straight in at the chunky end, while those who prefer to work up to a good filling can start with the tapered tip.
The Fella made a comment about it being longer than I am. He felt that the length could be a bit worrying to people who couldn’t or didn’t like deep penetration. I disagreed completely. The beauty of having a bit of extra length lies in the fact that you only have to put it in as far as you want it to go. Whatever you leave outside becomes something to hold on to, giving you a better grip for thrusting.
That’s a welcome thing, seeing as though this silicone gets hella slippery once it’s lubed up. And boy, does it need a lot of lube! It’s a draggy silicone, so I slather it in water-based lube to prevent any discomfort.
The first time I used it I started with the pointed tip. I wanted to see if the slight curve at the end of the shaft offered any g-spot stimulation. It does, but it’s a gentle kinda stimulation that takes ages to produce an orgasm. The tip hits the spot without a problem, but the shape and flexibility of the shaft makes it difficult for me to get the right pressure.
Being so slim, there isn’t really much texturing going on at that end, but the thicker end is interesting, to say the least.
It’s nicely filling, though not overly so, and the three thick ridges that make up the shape feel amazing when the shaft twists inside me. Things get too slippery for me to do that effectively to myself, but the Fella has worked out a fantastic twist and thrust rhythm that gets me every time. Because of the dips and dimples, my vagina stretches and shrinks in different places, depending on the angle and depth of penetration, so it feels like there’s always something new going on.
Once things really heat up, the solid nature of the dildo lets him give me a good pounding, while the squish and flex of the silicone goes a long way to providing some cushioning. Aah, it makes me so happy.
One way I haven’t used the SelfDelve Pepper, is anally. I think it’s unlikely that my butt would suck in something so large, but it isn’t impossible given the taper. For that reason, I’ve chosen not to take the chance.
Cleaning your SelfDelve silicone is simple. I just stick mine in a sink full of soapy water, and once it’s dry I pop it back in its fancy silver tin for storage. It does love it some dust and pet hair, so needs a good rinse and a check over before every use.
If this dildo sounds like something you’d like to get to know personally, you can pick one up here.
