When I first spotted in a trade magazine that Rocks Off was releasing some new products I nearly stroked out. I fell instantly in love with the Unihorn Stardust Vibrator and wanted to get my hands on one so badly. Happily, Rocks Off got in touch about reviews and to my everlasting joy, one of the available products was the Unihorn. I had a bit of a struggle in my head cos the Joycicles (one of which is up for grabs in my Christmas Giveaway!) vibes are the same shape but with a Christmassy design, but the one I originally fell for won the day.
Something I love about Rocks Off is their packaging. It’s black with gold accents, a window so you can see exactly what you’re getting. On the back I’m informed that the toy is waterproof, battery powered (one AAA which is included) and has ten settings. There’s also a reminder on there to register the 12-month guarantee, the activation code for which is inside of the box behind a removable double panel. If you take that panel out you’ll find instructions and info on the reverse.
The Unihorn is made of hard plastic and it’s gorgeous. The colour is deep metallic pink at the base and it fades into a soft orange before turning gold at the very tip. It’s a tapered vibe, chunky at the bottom and slender at the top with a twist in the shaft that gives it its unicorn horn appearance.
All in, it measures 4.5-inches. The base (which is the twist off cap that covers the battery housing) has a 4.5-inch girth that fits nicely in the palm of the hand, and it’s just as easy to grip it with the fingers because of the little indents in the sides. When you reach the tip you’re in bullet territory. The girth here isn’t even 2 full inches, the taper being quite sharp to offer the most accurate of pinpoint stimulation.
So, vibes. As I said above there are ten different settings. Three constant speeds and seven patterns. They’re all accessed by a single push button in the base. I had a little bit of hassle when trying to get it going for the first time. I checked and double checked the battery was correctly inserted. Made sure that I’d removed the little protective disc. But I couldn’t get it to switch on. A little fiddle with the base suddenly brought it to life and I figured out that over tightening it somehow stops it from working. If this had compromised the waterproof aspect of it I woulda been pissed, but it doesn’t. It stays good and sealed, not letting any water in even though I left it sat in a full glass for about ten minutes.
Okay, so it’s no secret that I’m not a huge fan of Rocks Off bullets. They’re too buzzy for me, I prefer a stronger more aggressive vibration. It’s also no secret that the Fella loves them. He’s pretty much laid claim to all of my RO stuff apart from my Rock Chick and RO-Val vibrating pendant. Every part of his body loves these vibes and the Unihorn Stardust doesn’t disappoint him. As usual, he’s all about having the tip skimmed across his ballsack while I give him head, or pressed against my cheek so he can feel the vibes through my mouth. So far, so what I expected.
What I didn’t expect was to have an orgasm while getting myself ready for play while the Fella took a bath. I mean, I really don’t heart these vibes, folks. When I said I’d do a couple of reviews for Rocks Off I chose designs I liked but knew that they would be the Fella’s toys. I’ve tried it a handful of times and it does the job. None of the orgasms have been as surprisingly strong as that first one but I suspect that’s because I’m chasing them rather than them coming to me. Either way, I’m happy, cos I didn’t expect to be coming with this toy at all.
Here’s the part where I tell you about cleaning. It’s a piece of cake! Running it under the tap with a bit of soap is enough to do the job, just ensure you keep the base tightly screwed on to keep water out. Storage is important for these toys. The colouring is a coating on the plastic that eventually wears off. I’ve had RO (and other brand) bullets fade to bare plastic with use in the past. It’s also very scratchable, too. If it gets knocked around in a drawer or a toy box, the finish will end up damaged. So a soft bag is pretty much essential to keep it looking good.
