A month or two ago, I was given a chance to review a product that completely changed my opinion of a certain type of vibrator. Love eggs. They’ve never been that special to me, to be honest. They’re often too small, too weak, or – worst of the worst – both. But the We-Vibe Jive changed that for me. I really liked that thing, and I’m pleased to report that it isn’t the only love egg of its kind out there. A similar product is the Lovense Lush App Controlled Vibrator.
When my review package from the ever awesome MEO arrived, I was most eager to get at the Lush. I’ve not had any experience with Lovense products in the past, so I didn’t know what to expect. On the outside, the packaging is clean white, pink and purple. There’s a wealth of information on there about the product, which is something I actually like to see. I know a lot of people shop online for their toys, but there are those who prefer a bricks and mortar store. More info on packaging helps those folks make a decision.
Along with the Lush itself, you’ll find a more in-depth info booklet in a bunch of languages, and a USB charging cable. I did a little whoop when I saw that it’s a pin charger. I fucking hate the magnetic nonsense (mostly) so pin chargers make me happy.
Something I instantly loved about the Lovense Lush is the size. I expected something weeny, so was pleased to see a rather sizeable insertable. On its own, the egg measures 3-inches in length and it has a girth of 4.5-inches. No, it’s not huge. In fact, for someone like me, it’s kinda small but it’s still very noticeable once it’s all up in me.
The entire thing is made of the pinkest silicone known to humankind. On one of the sides, you’ll find a small depression. This is the charging point, the pin slides straight into that little blip. It’s a self-healing hole, meaning that the silicone closes up tight once the pin is removed, so it doesn’t compromise the waterproof aspect of the toy.
On the top there’s a single control button, and that gives you access to five modes; three of them constant vibrations and two patterns. The jump from mid-speed to high is hilarious. The lower two are rumbly but soft, then the third speed comes in like a wrecking ball. It’s so much more powerful than the one below it, it draws a surprised ooh from me every time. But as I said, your options are limited if you opt to only use that control button.
If you want a remote, make sure that long removal tail isn’t buried inside you or between your labia. Reason being, the very tip of it houses the Bluetooth receiver. Download the Lovense app (it’s free and can be used without signing up for an account), pair your toy and you have an instant remote.
I’ll be honest and tell you I don’t love that, to get the best from this toy I need to use the app.
It’s not because connectivity is poor, cos with the Lovense Lush it’s really good. You can control your partner’s toy no matter where you are, so happy days for those in long distance relationships. For together in the same place play, you have control at various distances (ranging from 5ft to 30ft) depending on whether you’re sitting or standing, and whether the person in charge of the ‘remote’ is in front of or behind you. I dunno, I’m just not a fan of apps, cos that means there’s a phone in reach, and that means distraction. I’d prefer a physical remote control, personally.
Despite my dislike of it, using the app is simple. You have a few options with the tap and slide remote:
- Touch – with this option, you hold your finger on the pink ball and move it around the screen. The vibes follow whatever you choose to do, and when you let go of the ball it drops back to the bottom of the screen and the vibes stop.
- Float – this works in a similar fashion, but when you let go of the pink ball it stays wherever you leave it. The vibes remain active at that level.
- Loop – if you draw a little pattern with the pink ball in this mode, the vibes will repeat it in a loop until you change it.
- Traditional panel – this is a sliding scale. Choose your intensity, press the screen and the vibes will stay at that level until you change them.
I always choose the Float mode. It gives me the best control over the vibes, and I know that once I get lost in sensation and abandon the phone, it’s not gonna kill the vibes. I fell for that with Touch, but only the once.
In use, the Lovense Lush is pretty damn good.
Even though the tip looks kinda blunt, it’s actually nicely tapered to aid insertion. Whenever I get the urge to use something like this I can guarantee I’ve been reading (or writing) erotica, or I’ve been watching or listening to something that’s made me all juicy. Already being wet lets me forgo lube, but if you need to add a little lick of something make sure it’s water-based.
Once it’s in there, the tail naturally stands out from my body. It’s soft and smooth, so there’s no discomfort at all. The worst I feel from it is a sensation like the Lush is slipping out, but it’s not really. It’s just the feeling of the tail moving around my vaginal opening.
The vibes from the Lovense Lush are very nice. I love that they’re rumbly enough to feel distinct against my vaginal walls and that there’s enough power to make it feel like there’s something substantial going on inside me. I don’t like gentle internal sensations, I like it hard. I like solid vibrators and big dildos, so a small vibe needs to be good to get a stamp of approval from me. And the Lush definitely gets it.
Playing with the Fella at the same time is dreamy. When he takes me anally, his cock shoves the Lush against my g-spot. The vaginal rumbles combined with the anal thrusting and his cock rubbing my wall against the toy feels incredible. And when he’s playing, I don’t even have to fuck about with the remote cos he does it. Bonus!
Cleaning it once you’re done is super simple because it’s waterproof. A quick wash in soapy water does the job, just ensure you don’t leave anything gunking up the charging hole. If it’s got stuff in it, you run the risk of inadvertently pushing it inside the toy when you pop the pin in, and that wouldn’t be good. There’s no storage option other than the box, so if you’re a bagger you’ll have to sort that out yourself.
If you’re wanting a direct comparison between the Lush and the We-Vibe Jive, I’ll tell you that in my opinion, the Jive wins in terms of vibe quality. It has a deeper rumble than the Lush, and it’s also quieter. However, the Lush feels more powerful to me. Yeah, there is a loss of rumble on the higher setting, but it’s still got more oomph. Factor in a longer battery life than the Jive, a larger size and easier charging, and I’d have to say that, out of the two, I prefer the Lush.
