LELO Lily 2 Scented Vibrator Review

Love em or hate em, there’s no denying the fact that LELO is one of the biggest names in luxury sex toys. Personally, I’m a lover. Sure, they have some pieces of tripe in their catalogue, but most of the products of theirs that I’ve tried have made me happy. Their Smart Wands are to die for, and they do some lovely anal toys. But one product I’ve long been curious about is the LELO Lily 2. I mean, it’s not every day a brand comes along with a chocolate scented vibrator, is it?

As with all LELO products, the Lily 2 is very smartly packaged. Along with the toy itself, you’ll find a USB pin charger, storage bag, lube sample, warranty card, and a couple of leaflets, all tucked neatly away in little compartments. It’s definitely worth registering your toy to activate your warranty, especially when it’s a high-end, high price tag one. LELO offers a 12-month fault/defect replacement warranty. The replacement is discretionary, though, they’ll want the toy so they can investigate before they pay out. Once the warranty expires the quality guarantee kicks in. This gives you 50% off a replacement should your toy croak within a 10-year period.

So, the LELO Lily 2. It’s a tiny pebble shaped vibrator that’s made of soft-touch ABS plastic which has been ‘romantically infused’ with the scents of Bordeaux and Chocolat. I shit you not, someone at LELO decided that the world needed a scented vibrator. Cos we all go around sniffing our sex toys, right? Well, I know that many of us actually do that, but it isn’t booze and chocs we’re after. When we ram a toy up our nose it’s likely been on or inside of someone’s body and it’s them we’re wanting a whiff of.

It’s gimmicky, but obviously not that daft of an idea cos the global bestseller sticker on the box suggests that I’m not the only person in the world who really wanted to know what the point of a fragrance infused vibe is. I get the benefits of aromatherapy, and I know that chocolate is an aphrodisiac, but would I be able to smell them from all the way down there? Would it make my vulva smell like the end of a fine meal? Would it mask the natural scent of cunt and make it more palatable to picky eaters?

The answer to all of that, friends, is nope. My Lily 2 must be out of date or something cos it doesn’t have a scent. The Fella’s sense of smell died years ago so I knew there was no way he’d be able to smell anything, but my sense of smell is fine, and my nose detects nothing. At all. So, if you’re actually jazzed about the idea of a fancy smelling foof, you’re gonna be disappointed.

Good job it’s a decent vibrator, eh?

Lelo Lily 2 Review, Purple pebble shaped vibrator rested on a woman's fingers

Like I said earlier, the LELO Lily 2 is one of those ‘so small you can only hold it with your fingertips’ kinda vibes. At 3” in length it’s about the size of my index finger. At its widest point it’s only 1.5”, and it’s barely an inch thick. I love how comfortable the small size and light weight makes it to hold. For me, it’s easier to use than a bullet is. It can get a bit tricky if there’s a lot of fluid present, especially when it comes to changing the vibes, but I find that to be the case with most small vibes.

Rather than being flat, it has a kink in the middle. That pulls the tip forward, so if you’re holding it between your labia with your thumb near the buttons it tilts toward the clitoris. It’s a pointed, softly rounded tip that’s suitable for both broad and pinpoint stimulation. It all depends on the angle.

I find the LELO Lily 2 to be super easy to operate. Many toys have buttons that lie beneath silicone, and it’s often necessary to grope around to find them during play. Don’t get me wrong, that doesn’t bother me at all, but I think the Lily 2’s well-defined buttons make play much smoother.

When the tip is pointed at you, the one on the left switches the toy on and lets you increase the speed. The one on the right lets you decrease the speed and turn the toy off. You don’t have to keep clicking either. If you want full speed ahead (or back) just hold your finger down and it cycles super quickly. Now, according to the packaging you get 8 ‘ultra-powerful’ settings with the LELO Lily 2. But I counted 11 distinct changes, from is it switched on to ooh this is nice. None of them are ultra-powerful, though, just so you know.

I reckon that if, on a scale of 1 to 10 where one is buzzy and ten is rumbly, these vibes would be a 7. And a half. Probably. The hard nature of plastic allows the full power to come through, but the lack of softening silicone does lend a slight harshness to the buzz.

Personally, I love these vibes. They’re deep enough to give me a satisfying clitoral orgasm without too much effort on my part. All I need is plenty of lube to keep things squishy and smooth, something to engage my imagination, and then gentle labial stroking before going in for the kill does the trick.

Just like another vibe I reviewed recently, the Fella gets off mega fast with the LELO Lily 2. The shape is perfect for holding in the curve of my/his palm during a handjob, and the vibes are pretty much perfect for him. He likes to be teased with it first, then once the Lily 2 touches his cock he’s probably got a maximum of five minutes before he’s done. I don’t know what it is about adding vibes to a wank, but he produces a load more come than he does without them. This makes watching him even more epic for me.

That’s just one of the reasons I’m glad this toy is waterproof. From what I can gather the original Lily wasn’t. But this one is, so once playtime is over it goes in the sink and gets a good soapy wash. Getting the exposed charging port wet still freaks me out, but it hasn’t done it any harm, so I’ll get over it one day.

Aside from the absolute pointlessness of the fragrance-infused plastic, I think the LELO Lily 2 is another triumph. I do think it’s expensive for what it is, though, but then so are most high-end toys. However, if you take into consideration the quality of the build, the quality of vibes, the warranty, and body-safe materials, the price tag doesn’t seem so obscene.
