L’Amourose Denia

There’s something in me which is pretty much demanding that I strive to own all of the L’Amourose products in existence. Having all of the colours would be nice too, but that’ll have to be a long term goal. For now, I’ve got what I’ve got, and I really can’t rave enough about them.

The L’Amourose Rosa is one of my all-time favourite sex toys, and I’ve long looked on its sibling, the Denia, with suspicion. Did the Rosa really need tweaking? Did they really need to add that clitoral arm? Had they ruined something that wasn’t broken by trying to fix it? The time came when I needed to find out, and now I know…

I won’t go into the packaging *yet again* as my opinion is there for all to see in my other L’Amourose reviews. I’ll just salute the Black Diamonds design team and move on.

As you would (and should) expect from a product from this price range, the build quality of the L’Amourose Denia is first rate. The plum silicone is seamless, luxuriously smooth and silky to the touch, and the faceted ABS plastic base is solid and robust. Silicone and ABS plastic are free from latex, phthalates, and other nasties, making them completely body safe. The clitoral arm is flexible, allowing it and the shaft to adapt to the shape of, and to move with, your body.

L’Amourose call it ‘Flex and Shift’ technology, and I admit I was disappointed when I realised this meant nothing more than ‘it’s not fixed in place’. I’d hoped there would be some kind of mechanical movement or some other equally fancy wizardry to astound and amaze my genitals, but there isn’t.

The charging base is the same as that of the Rosa, in that it’s a cradle fashioned from black ABS plastic that’s been faceted to match the toy’s base. The Denia sits atop this cradle and charges via two magnetic points, and it looks all swish on the bedside table while it does it. It takes 1.5 to 2 hours to charge and you get up to 2 hours of play before it needs charging again. It holds its charge fantastically when not in use too. Luvly jubbly!

When it comes to size and functionality, the Denia is basically the Rosa. The shaft and base are exactly the same, with 6” insertable of length and 4.5” of girth at the widest point. The only difference between the two is the Denia’s little clitoral arm, which protrudes 2” from the base. There are still two motors, one operating the shaft while the other powers the clitoral arm, and the vibration intensities are the same.

Both products offer 12 speeds, but the Denia boasts 9 modes, beating the Rosa by two. The plus, minus, and coffee bean function buttons are all present too, and both toys are fully submersible, so water babies and clean freaks can rejoice no matter which model they choose.

Now rabbit style vibrators and I have a checkered history. Some of them work well with my anatomy, while some are miles off, and sometimes the ones that fit me well suffer from vibes that are as weak as water, and I’m left unsatisfied despite the body compatibility. I was concerned about that with the Denia, purely because it’s a big ticket item from one of my favourite brands and I dreaded it not working for me.

So how did we get on? Like a house on fire!

The first time I used the Denia I was alone, and it wasn’t the best experience I’ve ever had. My G-Spot was happy as a clam, but my clit, not so much. Well, when I say clit, I mean little finger. To get the arm to sit where I needed it, I had to kinda jam my little finger in front of it and pull back slightly. This gave pretty much perfect contact, but it didn’t half hurt my pinkie. Having to do that every time is a bit of a pain in the arse, but there’s definitely a knack to it, and now that I have it down it’s easy for me to achieve a blended orgasm.

The best time I’ve had with the Denia was with the Fella. He made me stand by the wall with it inserted, both motors running at full speed, and once he had it positioned correctly he left me there. Then he told me the only move I was allowed to make was squeezing my thighs together, and that he wanted me to kegel until I came. Finally, he perched on the edge of the bed with a glass of Southern Comfort in one hand and his Dressage Whip in the other, and watched me do just that.

Standing with the Denia wedged between my legs kept it perfectly positioned, no finger needed, and working my kegels mimicked thrusting. The orgasm came slower than it would have if I’d been on my back with my legs apart, but that was the Fella’s intention, so it was all good.

A friend who loves her Rosa as much as I love mine asked me which toy I would choose if I could only have one, and I surprised us both by saying the Denia. On the face of it, the clitoral arm is only a small addition, but for me, it’s a damned good one. If you’d like to try the Denia for yourself, click on the banner below.
