When I was asked if I would like to review the Close2You Passione Rosa Rechargeable Vibrator, I didn’t hesitate to say yes. Close2You was a brand I hadn’t ever heard of, and as you know if you read Scandarella regularly, I love discovering new things!
When the Passione Rosa arrived (along with another vibe that I’ll be reviewing soon), I had a little smile at the packaging. The picture on the outer sleeve is something I’d expect to see while rifling through leaflets about couple’s counselling in the doctors waiting room. Well, except for the great big pink vibrator on the front, that is.
The inner box is one of the hard storage ones I love so much, and it’s pretty discreet too, unless you know the brand of course, as it’s printed on the lid and two sides. If you don’t like keeping your toys in their presentation boxes, you’ll be happy to know that there’s a storage bag hidden away beneath the vibe!
As mentioned, the Passione Rosa is rechargeable, and that happens via usb. There’s a little tab in the base of the vibe that swings out to reveal a pinhole where the charger plugs in. You can then plug the other end into whatever usb port you have available. The toy is splash proof, not waterproof, so no bath time play for the Passione. No submersible cleaning either, which always kinda annoys me, but it’s not the end of the world if you have a good supply of toy cleaner to hand.
Anyway, enough of that, on to the good bits!
Measuring up at 8.5 inches (7 of them insertable) and with a girth of 5 inches at the widest point, the Passione Rosa is a nicely sized piece of kit. The lovely bumped shaft is made from smooth, pink silicone, with a pink ABS plastic base on which live the controls.
While those bumps may look the same, they’re actually different sizes. The top two are half an inch slimmer than the rest, but that isn’t at all noticeable in use to me, though just that teeny bit of size difference might well make insertion easier for those who aren’t that experienced with penetration.
The Passione Rosa offers 3 speeds of intensity, and 4 patterns. In the leaflet that came in the box, those patterns are likened to musical rhythms, each one increasing in tempo until it blows your socks off. With two motors (as positioned in the photo below) you’d expect there to be enough power to do exactly that. But does it?
Yes and no.
The vibrations of the Passione Rosa sit on the buzzy scale for me, though not near the bottom. It does have a bit of a kick to it, but I wouldn’t call it powerful at all. That said, it has a bizarre quirk that actually makes it feel more powerful than it is. When you hold it by the base, the toy buzzes steadily and high pitched, but when pressure is applied to the bulbs that house the motors, those vibes get a little deeper and the toy starts to shudder.
Whether it be you hand it’s in or your vagina, you can literally hear the quality of the vibes change in reaction to squeezes. It wobbles as though it’s on a pattern when on constant, and the patterns themselves seem take on a slightly faster pace.
I dunno, maybe my Passione Rosa is fucked broken, but it actually works for me, so I hope it’s part of the design, lol.
Now, anyone who knows me from my Lovehoney forum days will know that the shape of the Passione Rosa is a shape I’m extremely fond of. I have a glass dildo that’s very similar, and my favourite way to use it is fast and hard, especially anally.
