Catherine Pleasure Balls Set

I spend a disproportionate amount of my laptop time browsing through sex toy shops, and the Fella tells me I often look like I should be wearing a bib while I do so. One such occasion was when I was perusing Coco de Mer, and I spotted one of their luxury toy collections. All of the pieces in it are beautiful, so naturally I wanted them all, but their prices were pretty jaw-dropping, and I accepted that it wasn’t gonna happen.

But then Lovehoney sent me an email, telling me they were sending me the Catherine Pleasure Balls Set in exchange for an honest, unbiased review, and I was elated.

The packaging of this product needs to be raved about, because it’s absolutely stunning. Inside of a lovely, velvety looking outer sleeve is a beautiful box. I can’t quite figure out what the craic is with that, because printed on it is a pic of Elizabeth Tudor’s body and someone else’s head. I don’t know whose head, but I’m guessing it’s some Catherine or another. Catherine of Aragon, maybe? I dunno.

Inside of that is a brown leather case with a golden zipper, and an info booklet bearing the same picture as is featured on the box. So far, it’s all very grand and fancy looking.

The lining of the box is pretty unattractive, and lets the overall look down, in my opinion. It looks like an Easter egg wrapper, and I really don’t like it. But that’s neither here nor there, is it. Nestled in a foam cut out inside the case, are your three geisha balls, all of which are made entirely from beautiful, smooth brown silicone. They do have visible seams, but they can only just be felt by the fingertips.

They all have stretchy retrieval cords that remain outside of the body, which are strong enough to be harshly tugged without snapping, and as they’re made from the same smooth silicone as the rest of the balls, they cause absolutely no discomfort whatsoever during all day wear.

  • Single ball

This ball weighs a light 50g, and is 2” in length, and 4.5” in circumference, so is ideal for beginners. The generous size combined with the internal, free roaming weight acts as a constant reminder to the wearer to squeeze. It’s very comfortable, and easy to hold on to, so is great while they’re getting accustomed to doing their kegels.

  • Duo balls

For intermediate users, the double ball is longer at 3.5”, but slightly slimmer at 4”. It weighs in at 80g, boasts two internal, free roaming balls, and is a little tougher to keep hold of. Again, it reminds the wearer to squeeze, and the weights trigger little contractions all on their own, so just wearing it is a mini work out in itself.

  • Solid ball

Aimed at more advanced users, this peanut shaped geisha ball is completely solid. There isn’t any jiggling to remind you to squeeze, not that you need it with the 120g weight complying with the laws of gravity! At 3” in length, and just 3.5” in circumference, you really do have to work those muscles to keep it where you put it!

This three step system is perfect for those who don’t want the hassle of figuring out what size or weight balls they need next. An absolute beginner could buy this set, and once holding onto the single ball becomes a breeze, they have the perfect next step, ready and waiting.

All three geisha balls are easy to insert, using a tiny lick of lube. Some people like to sit while they insert them, but I prefer to stand with my left foot on the edge of the bath or bed. Once removed, they can be washed in soapy water, and sprayed with toy cleaner before drying and storing in their fancy leather case.

It’s hard to put a price on what I’d reasonable pay for vaginal health, but these balls have the potential to be overpriced unless the amount Coco de Mer was charging for them doesn’t change once they hit Lovehoney. I suspect a lot of that has to do with the packaging, and as beautiful as it is, I’d much rather have a tough cardboard box or bag to store them in and pay a whole lot less.

The Catherine Pleasure Balls Set was sent to me by Lovehoney in exchange for an honest review. This in no way influences my opinions, which are now and will forever be, my own. Some affiliate links have been used in this post.
