I have a thing for intense sensations. I adore having my sight temporarily stolen from me by a blindfold while I lie there at the Fella’s mercy. Sometimes I get to feel the tickle of feathers, the lash of floggers, or the prickle of a pinwheel. Other times it’s the wet dripping of ice I get to feel or, even better, hot splashes of wax.
Getting a chance to review these The Bondage Man UV Wax Play Candles for Uberkinky made me super happy for a few reasons. One of them being that I just acquired a UV light a couple of months ago. The other reasons were; they look amazing, are made a stone’s throw away from me in the North East of England (hooray for almost local produce), and I just basically love getting covered in hot wax.
The pack I was sent contains 3 candles, one each of blue, yellow, and pink, all of them made from natural soya wax. They’re an inch in diameter and just over 3.75 inches in height. I’d love to be able to tell you what they smell like but, alas, I have the plague and my sense of smell has abandoned me.
When you light these candles, the wick swiftly burns down and the wax begins to pool immediately. When you tilt them, a little cup is formed at the tip and you can control how much you drop by the angle you hold them at. The Fella has dripped them and poured them on me, and he tells me that because they’re squat, they’re easier to control than any of the other hot wax bondage candles we’ve used in the past.
We haven’t used a full one of these yet, but I reckon you’ll get quite a long session from one if you pick a colour and stick with it until it’s finished. We’ve used them a couple of times and we’re only an inch and a bit into each. They burn quickly and cleanly, and at a temperature of around 54c – 130f. This is hot enough for you to really feel it, but not so hot that it should cause actual burns. Do take care all the same, though. Not everybody’s sensitivity and tolerance will be the same, and that goes for different parts of the same body, too.

Like I said above, I love this kinda thing. Lying face down and unable to see in a warm, quiet room and having hot wax dripped across the back of my body ushers me into a trance-like state where I know true peace and stillness of mind. My shoulders, back, butt and legs are the places where I’m least sensitive to the heat of the wax, so I can really relax into it and find my happy place while the Fella pleases himself with painting me with patterns and dirty words.
Lying on my front, however…this is where my tolerance lessens, and the closer he holds the candle to my skin, the more it hurts. Areas where the skin is thin are particularly painful, and I almost always bruise when he uses hot wax on my bony areas. He likes to drip it on the backs on my hands for this reason and the insteps of my feet, as he’s able to see those bruises all the time.
My chest bruises after wax play too. The pic below was set up by the Fella today, specifically for this review, and I’m developing a few blotches already. I love them!

That’s a cropped, enlarged image of a much larger expanse of skin. The little pink hearts travel down to my nipples, and the yellow spots fan out over my shoulders and arms, and down over my stomach. My nips sting so much during and after wax play, but the sensitivity they’re left with is delicious.
The UV aspect looks absolutely amazing, and so different from the norm. The Fella really does appreciate how bright they are as he uses them. He says it makes such a refreshing change from just seeing transparent pinks and purples, or basic blacks and reds. They’re fun, but sexy, and I had to smile at his delighted little giggles as he painted my skin. If you’re in to taking kinky pictures of your play, these would definitely add one hell of a new angle.
I do find that, when it comes to pain play, the Fella has to hold Bondage Man UV Candles really close to my skin and pour the wax over me to get the most out of them. Drips cool too quickly for me to get the full impact. That means they don’t build up that calming burn that I like to feel. Pouring them close does, though I get the impression that doing it that way will make their burn time much shorter.
I honestly think these are my new favourite candles.
I want them in all colours, all of the time, forsaking all other brands that I’ve tried before. Yeah, the others seem to burn hotter, but there’s just something about these ones that I love. I’ve definitely got them on my Christmas list this year, and I hope to god the Fella takes heed and buys me some.
