Something I will never tire of is the seemingly endless array of dildo-y goodness that’s flooding from Blush Novelties right now. It’s a bold statement to make, but I reckon they have something for almost everyone except folks who opt exclusively for extremely large sizes. I really do love the Real Nude line a whole hell of a lot. Each piece, from the little Ergo Mini to this, the Sumo – which is the largest offering from this range to date – is made of dual density silicone. The idea of dual density, with its firm but flexible core and super soft exterior, is to provide a closer-to-human experience. It’s intended to emulate the hard shafted, softer headed nature of an erection instead of being a solid hunk of silicone.
But that isn’t to say that they’re realistic in appearance because they’re not. Well, not entirely. The Real Nude Sumo is semi-realistic in design. Its squishy head is subtly dick-like with a soft coronal ridge ringed underneath by a foreskin fold. It also has a urethral indent and a vague V-shaped dip in the frenulum area. At the base of the shaft, there’s got a boxy little bulge in lieu of balls. But other than those two things, this dildo isn’t even remotely realistic.
Overall, the Real Nude Sumo measures 10” in length. Its shaft – 7” insertable – is super smooth and, like its base, kinda boxy. The two sides feel very flat with the top and underside swelling in slight curves. It bears no veins, no superfine skin texture, and in my case, no flesh tone colouring. You can get Real Nude dildos in (very limited) shades of skin, but most shapes also come in blue and purple, too.
Something I love about the Sumo, even in my hand, is the resistance I feel when I squeeze its shaft. The outer layer is pinchable and squishable, but as soon as I put pressure on the shaft, I can feel the firm core refusing to give. It isn’t a rigid dildo, though, I can easily bend the Real Nude Sumo in half in all directions by hand. But during play, it holds its shape and doesn’t try to flop around during insertion.
Girth-wise, the Sumo is a changeable little sucker. Just above the ‘balls’ it measures 5” in circumference. By mid-shaft it swells a little to 5.5”, but then shrinks to 4.75” just below the head. Its thickest point is around the head where it reaches 6”.
This is a fantastic size for me. Yeah, I love the big stuff, but recently I’ve been reaching for toys with sizes that sit within the realms of possibility. I mean, the Real Nude Sumo is definitely hanging around the larger end of that scale, but it’s no mammoth dong. Even so, it gives me almost everything I need.
First off, I love its length because:
- It’s capable of filling my entire vaginal canal while still leaving a good chunk outside of my body. I say this in most reviews, I think, but having a handle is important to me. I’ve got to be able to hold on to something so that I can really thrust deeply and vigorously. I can get a good handful of this, especially with it having a suction cup, so I don’t end up with cramping fingers, or with the dildo slipping from my grasp.
- It lets me use it hands-free whilst lying on my back. Because of my big butt, shorter dildos don’t work for me this way, but with the Sumo, I can insert it and then lie back without it slipping out. All I need to do once I’m in position is bounce my hips and the head mashes against my g-spot. With my hands-free, I can pay attention to other parts of my body.
- It lets me use it hands-free for anal whilst lying on my side. The base pretty much catches on the bedsheets and stays there while I rock my ass back and forth. Plenty of lube stops the dildo from trying to move with me so I get to play as deeply – or not – as I please. I can’t do this with shorter dildos. In fact, the only other dildo I can do this with (with consistent success) is this one.
No matter which position or orifice I choose, the Sumo’s girth is just wonderful. The head feels super filling, especially for vaginal play, but though it is really soft, it doesn’t feel it in use. There is definitely a softer quality to it, but once it’s all up in there grinding away at my g-spot or thudding against my cervix, it feels firm. I get delicious stimulation from it, a little teasing stretch if I withdraw fully and reinsert every so often. Sometimes, I miss texture with super smooth toys, but not with this one. It’s big enough and easy enough to use for me not to care about how plain it is.
Remember that tidbit above about using it while on my back? I can do that in the bath, too. Now, I’m not usually one for playing in the bath, but every now and again I disappear in there for the sole purpose of having a wank. Because of the water-based lube dissolving in water issue, I normally opt for glass or metal insertables, cos trying to thrust silicone into a water-wet vagina is bloody awful.
However, inserting the Sumo into my vag before I get in the water then sticking it to the base of the bath while it’s already in me stops water getting in. That means I can shake my booty (slowly, I don’t want my bathroom to turn into the Poseidon adventure – or do I?) and stimulate my g-spot without properly thrusting. It’s a slow process, but with my free hands, I can rub my clit, or soap up my boobs, or do whatever other pleasant things I can think of.
All of those uses and I’m not even done, cos the Real Nude Sumo is not just the proud haver of a very strong suction cup, it’s also harness compatible. I’ve pranced around with it in my harness, though the Fella wouldn’t let me within a mile of his nekkid butt. But I got a good feel for how it would feel in use, and I know it would be fab for someone big bellied like me. The length would prevent my belly from hindering insertion, I wouldn’t worry about slipping out because I couldn’t get close enough. Its weight felt comfortable, it looked good. Nothing not to love there at all.
