I’m not a lifestyle Submissive, I’m a bedroom Submissive. In my day to day life, I’m an argumentative so-and-so, and it’s rare that I let anyone tell me what to do, though I have a good understanding that the things I say and do outside of the bedroom often have an impact on what goes on inside it later on in the day.
While I do love to give over control to the Fella, I intentionally misbehave sometimes, for no other reason than to push his buttons and see what kind of punishment it earns me, so in order to tackle my combative nature, he’s developed an array of different methods of nudging (and sometimes shoving) me into the mind-set of a Sub.
There’s a certain look, a tone of voice, and a firm grasp of my wrists that can do it, but there’s nothing more effective in silencing my belligerent attitude than watching him approach me with a collar in his hand.
As soon as I see the strip of (usually) leather and the shiny silver buckle, I become the most obedient creature imaginable. Instant arousal usually goes hand in hand with that obedience, and I’ve never once resisted having a collar placed around my throat and secured.
The most recent addition to our small collar collection was this Bettie Page Collar Me Set. I have the major lusts for this range, and as much as I want it all NOW, I’m buying it in bit by bit.
As with all of the other pieces in the range, the packaging is lovely, and it ties in with Bettie’s image perfectly. Sexy, sensual, dark and classy. Bettie is everywhere on this stuff. Her face is in a cameo on the outer sleeve, and there’s a dozen sexy prints of her inside of the sturdy storage boxes lid. One of those prints is mirrored in a collector’s card (one of which is included with every piece in the range) and there’s even a keyring with Bettie’s face on one side, and her signature on the other.
The collar itself is beautiful. At 20 inches in length and just 1 inch in width, it really is a subtle bit of kit. The side you show the world is faux leather with a delicately stitched quilting pattern, and the reverse side is soft and velvety, so is gentle on your skin.
With 7 holes, the collar accommodates necks between 12 and 16 inches, and there’s room to add more holes if you need to make it longer or shorter. The front of the collar boasts a shiny silver metal knob like stud with a fixed D-Ring, and clipped to that via a lobster clip is a 28 inch metal chain with a hand loop that’s made from the same quilted faux leather as the main piece.
This is such a lovely, comfortable collar to wear, it’s fast become one of my favourites. When I look at myself wearing it, I feel feminine because it’s understated, edgy because of its sharp black leather appearance, and demure because I’m collared. The Fella is quite fond of it too, as not only does he find it sexy, but he also loves that fact that it’s sturdy! I’ve been fairly yanked about by the lead, to the point where I bruised a little, but there was no stretching of the collar’s materials, and no damage to the buckle or the stud in front.
The metal of the lead hasn’t escaped his notice either, and it’s been detached and used as an impromptu whip once or twice. For such a light chain, it does actually hurt, and it leaves behind a very pretty bruise for me to discover the next day.
We don’t own many collars, and I can’t see us wanting to buy another any time soon, as this one ticks all the boxes for us. No matter if it’s your first, fifth or fifteenth collar, I think you’re bound to find something to love about the Bettie Page Collar Me Set.
