Do you wanna know what one of my hard limits is? Rimming. I can give it (while pulling a face like I’m sucking a lemon) but I cannot take it. Seriously, if the Fella’s tongue gets too close to my pucker I climb the wall backwards to get away from him. It’s not the sensation I dislike, though. I just can’t accept a tongue up or on my arse, it just ain’t happening. However, if it ain’t poking out of a mouth I’m definitely game. That’s why I opted to review the B-Vibe Rimming Butt Plug when MEO asked what I fancied.
Obviously, I had no expectations that it would feel anything like actual rimming. I still remember my first rabbit vibe. Noisy and a bit little bit like running a cheese grater over my pubic bone at certain angles. I kinda expected the same thing from this plug, but I still wanted to give it a go. How could I resist the thought of a remote-controlled spin dryer causing a ruckus in my tuchus?
So, as soon as it arrived I dived in. There seems to be an inordinate amount of packaging involved with this toy. A sleeve covered in product images, info, and some photos of cute couples. They aren’t all straight folks, which is good, but I ask ya, do we need images of beautiful people on sex toy packaging? Nope, that’s what porn is for. Anyhoo, beneath that sleeve, there’s a big blue box, and inside of that, there’s a plastic shell in which sits a hard-plastic case, a remote control, and a user guide. The box could easily have been a third smaller.
I love the storage case, though. It’s the loveliest shade of metallic blue and inside there’s a little net to keep the charger and stuff separate from the plug. It’s big enough to take either a small bottle of lube or a few sachets, as well as the remote.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from the B-Vibe Rimming Butt Plug size-wise and looking at it I can’t help but think its proportions are a bit weird. From end to end it measures up at 6”. Priddy big for a butt plug, innit? But the insertable portion seems really small to me and I don’t just mean cos my butt likes big things. The tapered plug is 3.5” insertable with a maximum girth of 5”. The neck (where the rimming beads are) is 1.25”, as is the base. But while the neck is a slender 3.5” the base is a massive 3” by 1.5” block. It’s gotta be big cos it houses the motor.
The whole piece is made of lovely, silky blue silicone, with just two metal dots in the base for connecting the magnetic charger. That’s where the ON button is, too. Now, I’m not one of these people who thinks butt stuff isn’t gonna pick up a stank, but this thing literally always smells like arse. I’m not playin’, I cannot lift the butt smell. Even my really good cleaner from MEO can’t shift it and that makes me sad (and a bit ill every time I unzip the fucking case *gag*). I think I need to stand it in a bleach solution (only the shaft and not the base) to sort it out.
So, what does it do?
Well, once it’s all inserted and sitting pretty, the B-Vibe Rimming Butt Plug does a few things. One, it feels good just being there. Two, the tip houses a bullet vibe that delivers six patterns in six intensities. Three, five rows of metal beads in the neck rotate, stimulating the anal opening. Plenty going on there, isn’t there!
What’s more, all of that can be easily controlled by either the push button in the base of the plug or by using the remote control. This little remote is so cute, and so well made. It’s made of a soft touch plastic, is powered by a cell battery, and can switch the plug on and off, change the intensities and modes, all from up to 30 feet away. It really is a good connection, too. We play about 4 metres away and we’ve had no connection issues at all. Our quick test downstairs while 30 feet apart worked just fine.
Back when we reviewed the B-Vibe Triplet we had some issues playing without the remote. Once lube was involved using just the button on the toy itself became too awkward. With the Rimming Butt Plug, we didn’t have that problem. The base is plenty chunky enough to get a grip on, even with wet hands, and the button is big enough to be unmissable.
Getting the plug inserted is simple enough. A coating of a good, cushioning water-based lube sees the tip slide in with ease, and as the plug is a straight taper the stretch is slow. Teardrop plugs have a more immediate stretch and kinda insert themselves with a pop, but these ones let you take your time. Once you’re comfy on it goes.
I honestly have no idea if this is what rimming feels like, but if it is I know why it’s so popular. The sensation of those beads squirming around my anal opening is fucking heavenly. It’s relentless. Even if I squeeze around the neck they just keep on spinning. For me, the lowest setting is the most delicious, and maybe the second one too. Any higher than that and the spinning becomes so fast it feels more like a vibration than a rotation. And the vibes get stronger, too. Though they’re largely eclipsed by the delightfulness of the beads they get more obvious and, to my mind, that takes away from the experience a bit.
Adding a bit of clit stim and just letting the plug do its thing is orgasm easy street for me. I just lie there like Jabba the Hutt and have my pleasures delivered. When the Fella is manning the controls he changes the settings every other breath, so one minute I’m in my happy place, the next I feel like I’m using a basic butt vibe, and the next I feel like I’m having my hole made anew. The highest speed of rotation is pretty fast, and it can feel a bit juddery.
But, when it comes to my butt there’s always a but. I like the patterns on this toy. Purely because the beads hit their top speed at the same time as the vibe hits its last constant vibration. Once the patterns kick in the vibes change but the beads don’t. They stay at the same super-fast spin while the vibes chop and change. This makes all the difference. The difference between the incessant rotating around my anal opening and the changing internal vibes (with a teeny bit of plug gyration that is the by-product of the rotation) has the same effect on me as my favoured lower speed does.
Except it does it quicker. I come quicker. I also only come once. With the lower settings I can keep on playing, but with the highest setting and patterns, I want the plug out as soon as my orgasm is over. Changing the setting doesn’t even work, it’s just not nice at that point.
I’ll quickly mention the remote here. While you can only get the basic 6 speeds and 6 patterns with the on-toy control, the remote gives you more. You can have each of the patterns in each of the speeds, too, essentially upping your options from 12 to 36. It also lets you conduct your solo play hands-free, and of course, it gives whoever you’re playing with more room to work with, too.
Because of the smell I can’t shift I’ve not been comfortable enough to share this one with the Fella. It’s a shame, cos not only is he curious, but he could also tell me if the sensation on offer is even remotely like actual rimming. Maybe if I can shift the pong I’ll give him a go.
My usual cleaning routine for butt stuff is a preliminary wash in soapy water – cold water so I don’t bake in the stench, lol. After that, I use my fave toy cleaner and let it sit for a little bit before washing again and then air drying. And still, it reeks. I despair, I really do. My Triplet doesn’t hold a smell and neither does my Snug Plug. So weird.
Anyway, I’m sure you’ve gathered that, on the whole, I’m delighted with this toy. It feels good, has so many different sensations to offer, and it looks mighty fine, too. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who knows the plug is the right size for them.
