MiaMaxx Thrusting Vibrator, Stand, & Xara Sleeve

One of my most popular reviews to date is the one I wrote for the MiaMaxx Thrusting Vibrator. That little handheld fucking machine gets so much attention here on Scandarella. If you’ve not read that particular review, here’s a spoiler; I wasn’t impressed. The thing was noisy, I found it awkward to use with my short arms and bulky frame. When the creators of MiaMaxx read that review they offered to send me a couple of products. One intended to make using the toy easier for me, and the other to offer a different sensation while I tried it out.

Before I talk about those, though, I’ll tell you a bit about my MiaMaxx. No, I’m not gonna rehash an old review. See, before I even got a chance to try out my new goodies, my MiaMaxx croaked. There was no life in the old bugger at all. So, being the awesomely generous company that they are, MiaMaxx sent me a new toy!

But it wasn’t a like for like deal. No, sir, things have changed a bit for the MiaMaxx. While the design of the wee fucky thing is still the same, it’s seen a few upgrades.

The first thing to smack me in the face was the quality of the materials. Gone is the super shiny (and very tacky) ABS plastic and in its place is a sleek, matte version. Not a game-changing upgrade, I’ll grant you, but it looks so much better. Less fingerprints keep it looking cleaner and more appealing, in my opinion.

As well as that, there’s a change at the base of the silicone concertina (the part that expands and contracts as the toy thrusts). On the old model, the silicone would pop out of the base whenever I cleaned it. It wasn’t fixed in. But it is in the new model, which is a definite improvement in my eyes. Less chance of gunk getting in there, less chance of it all falling apart on me.

Moving away from the aesthetic (and hygienic) upgrades, there’s my favourite change; a marked improvement in the noise! Really, the original was rackety as fuck, and while this new model isn’t ninja quiet, it’s certainly a hell of a lot better.

So, on to the new stuff.

The first thing on the agenda for me to try was the MiaMaxx Toy Stand.

My main gripe with the original MiaMaxx model was how difficult it was for me to hold when playing solo. I’m a short person, and I have short arms. Whenever I tried using the MiaMaxx on my own I would struggle to keep hold of the base when it reached its maximum extension. I mean, I could keep hold of it, but I would have to lift my upper body, and that would alter the angle of the thrust. My poor pubic bone copped it more than once, I got a few unpleasant jabs on the cervix as well as around my urethral opening if the toy somehow managed to slip out.

The Toy Stand is intended to transform the MiaMaxx into a handsfree fucking machine, which really did sound ideal for someone like me. It’s a suction cup affair that’s made almost entirely of ABS plastic. The toy is secured in its cradle via a spring with a wingnut fastening, and the angle of the suction cup can be adjusted via a wingnut fastening too.

Because of that fastening, you’re not limited to what smooth, flat, shiny surface you can stick it to. That means you’re less limited to what position you can play in. You can lie on your back and have the MiaMaxx thrusting down from above you. Or put it on the floor and have it pointing straight up, or on the wall and have it poking out at whatever degree angle you fancy. There’s a catch, though. The surface you put it on has to be the cleanest tile known to man.

Yep, this suction cup is bloody terrible. I honestly thought something was missing when I saw how flat it was. Usually, suction cups are super concave, but this one only has a dip of about 5mm. If it’s even that deep. It does not and will not stick to my polished wood headboard, so that disappointed the shit out of me. That’s exactly where I’d planned to use it. I struggled to get it to stay put on my mirror, my gloss painted bedroom door, and the bathroom tiles. The floors throughout my house are textured or carpeted so that put using it that way out the window.

The instructions say that the surface you want to use should be cleaned well with soapy water, then degreased with alcohol. If you’re like regular people and clean your bathroom with bathroom cleaners and your windows with glass cleaners, you’re outta luck. They leave residues, so the MiaMaxx Toy Stand will not adhere to your chosen surface.

Just how spontaneous is that, though? You’re feeling in the mood. You want something a little more vigorous than a vibrator, but you don’t want your hands to do the work, so you take your hungry, horny self to the bathroom and start washing and degreasing tiles. The only way to kill the mood any faster would be to shoot it. Unless you’re a service sub, of course.

But in my experience, even cleaning the tiles (and a granite chopping board that’s never seen my kitchen) to within an inch of their lives didn’t work. I still couldn’t get the thing to stick. It’s not a bust altogether, though. It just so happens that fully extending the stand, slotting in the MiaMaxx, and then wedging it between my feet makes the whole damned thing perfect for me.

The length is perfect, the angle (if I’m lying down) is perfect for g-spot stimulation. I still get my on-bed handsfree fucking machine, which is exactly what I wanted. Reaching the controls is still a bit of a chore cos they’re even further away from my hands, but I can live with that. I whack it up to full vibes and full thrust every time, I’m not one for fucking about with buttons until I’m done.

Now for the other product I was sent. The MiaMaxx Xara Sleeve.

When I got my first MiaMaxx the silicone sleeve it came with was a realistic penis shape. I now know that it’s called the Arya. But the new model comes with a thick, mostly straight sleeve with an almost missable swelling at the tip. This attached silicone sleeve doesn’t seem to have a name, so I call it the lovely chubby one. It feels so filling in use, I love it. I think that switching the Arya for a non-realistic shape was a good call. Not all folks looking at this toy will want a dick-like attachment. For those who do want one, the Arya can be purchased separately.

The MiaMaxx Xara Sleeve is the textured silicone option. Five inches insertable (like the other sleeves) and five and a half inches in girth, it has lovely wavy bumps right down its length. My g-spot doesn’t get much attention from it, but only because of the angle I choose. I love to crank the toy up to max and feel those bumps whipping in and out of my vaginal opening. The never-ending rhythm can feel a bit artificial if I really concentrate on it, but if I just go with the flow and let my mind wander, it’s magic.

I really do like how different each sleeve feels. Arya is veiny with a realistic tip. Xara is wavy and ace for stimulating the vaginal opening. There’s also the Irah, which is a slim, tapered sleeve, and the Mezz, which mimics the club-shaped handle of the toy itself. So many options for one toy. Pretty good if you ask me.

I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t mention how good this toy is for anal use. Plenty of water-based lube is essential, and insertion can be a little bit awkward sometimes. That’s less to do with the length this time and more to do with the angle. I need to let the shaft line up cleanly with my butthole, cos if there’s too much deviation I’ve been known to tear a little. This has happened with dildos before, but whenever it has it’s been in my power to stop immediately. But the MiaMaxx keeps on fucking no matter how much I fling my safeword at it, so I have to accept the pain and added damage until I can reach down, pull it out or turn it off. Yeah, ouch and a fucking half.

But the constant sensation of the shaft (especially the Xara) sawing in and out is not to be missed. It lets me push past the ‘no more’ reaction I get after a good anal orgasm, and usually the climax that follows is incredible. The Fella happily uses the MiaMaxx for forced anal orgasms, and giving him head while this thing fucks away at my butt is one of the best things ever.

If you have a MiaMaxx and find it difficult to use it might be worth giving the suction cup stand a shot. I know, I know, it’s shit at suctioning, but as I mentioned above, there are other ways to use it. I suppose you could rig something up to do the job, but this is a made to fit, secure cradle. Even though I can’t use it for its intended purpose, it still comes out every time the MiaMaxx does.

  1. Hi! Loved this review- so so thorough. Can you tell me how much this is though? The company had reached out to me when they thought I still worked in sex product writing (but then I looked into it for personal reasons) and the price was MUCH higher than indicated on the website linked here, so I want to make sure it was correct? It says $299 AUD which is about $230 American. Just want to see! Thank you!!

    1. Hey Chels! Glad you liked the review 😀

When I reviewed the first MiaMaxx model back in 2014 it was $299 AUD and the price hasn’t changed. I’ve not seen it for sale for any higher than that, either. Here in the UK, it retails at £150, which is approx £200, I think.x

  2. Great Descriptions! I have woman friend who would like this for her Birthday/Christmas( both in Dec). Would show her Your review first! Thank You!
