Well now! If you’d told me six months ago that I’d get to review a mains powered insertable vibrator, I’d have laughed in your face. I’d never seen one before and, to be perfectly honest with you, the idea that company could be in the middle of making one never even occurred to me. But then three different styles appeared on Lovehoney’s tester list, and I was given the opportunity to review one.
When I first spotted the Jopen Opal on Twitter, my eyes were instantly on stalks. I pretty much rubbed them all over the gorgeous image on my laptop screen and had my first eyegasm. It was just so lovely to look at I wanted it on sight, and when the fabulous Carolyn from Betty’s Toy Box asked me if I was up for reviewing it, I think I whooped so hard she heard me across continents.
The Close2You Flores Piccolo rabbit-style vibrator was an unexpected offering from a lovely lady at Orion, sent along with the Passione Rosa (from the same brand) for me to review. I have a number of rabbit vibes at this point, and I have a terrible time getting them to work for me, so I was eager to see if the Piccolo would end up on the yes or no pile.
As a blogger who is lucky enough to get to review products which various companies send to me free of charge, I have a personal rule that any product I haven’t paid for is to be reviewed within 30 days of delivery. I don’t get boxes full of stuff rolling in daily, and I don’t take for the sake of taking then make a company wait for 3 months because I’ve over committed myself.
So, now you know that, I’m guessing you can imagine how distressed I am that the Nexus Femme Bisous has been with me for over a month and is only now being reviewed. But that’s not because I took on more work than I could handle. I’ve actually tried writing this review four times, it’s just never felt right.
When someone says, ‘Rabbit-style vibrator’ or ‘dual stimulator’ to you, what images pop into your head? Whirly beaded shafts? Little bunny face with pointy ears? Big clunky-assed handle with clicky buttons? Yeah, that’s what I think of too. So like me, you probably look at the We-Vibe Nova and think, what the fuck is that all about?
I’m not a girly girl. I wear clothes with skulls on them, I paint my nails in dark colours, and I avoid rom-coms like they’re gonna give me a social rash. But offer me a lime green butterfly vibrator and I’ll squeal like a teenager and take your hand off. Sorry, Blush Novelties. I’ll get that hand back to you very soon, I promise!
So yeah, joking aside, when I was offered the opportunity to review the Lotus Flutter from Blush’s Aria range, I snapped it up.
There’s something in me which is pretty much demanding that I strive to own all of the L’Amourose products in existence. Having all of the colours would be nice too, but that’ll have to be a long term goal. For now, I’ve got what I’ve got, and I really can’t rave enough about them.
The L’Amourose Rosa is one of my all-time favourite sex toys, and I’ve long looked on its sibling, the Denia, with suspicion. Did the Rosa really need tweaking? Did they really need to add that clitoral arm? Had they ruined something that wasn’t broken by trying to fix it? The time came when I needed to find out, and now I know… Continue reading “L’Amourose Denia”
